The Lower School Lantern Project Was a Great Success
The Lower School lantern project which took place at the end of the Autumn term was a great success. The lanterns were gifts for a Christmas Day lunch held in Sherborne for people who would otherwise be on their own at Christmas.
John Bradshaw from Sherbourne Churches Together charity who ran the event said, ‘Our Christmas day lunch was a wonderful success. We had 105 people sitting down for lunch and we had 41 volunteers helping in one way or another. Our chef was a retired Cornish farmer who at the age of 50 sold up his farm and went back to college to become the chef he’d always wanted to be! He is now semi-retired as a chef and lives in Sherborne.
Once again, your children’s lanterns were much admired. Thank you so much to you and to those who put so much time and effort into making them!’
