Mrs Bartlett Reports On The Lower School’s Acts Of Kindness
We looked the beginning of Lent and how we can all work together to ‘give’ to our families, friends, and community.
The children made a ‘40 Acts’ poster and went home armed with 40 individual tasks that they could cut out and do each day. The children have been taking part in a range of positive acts for Lent, such as putting notes of kindness in library books, planting seeds, baking for a teacher, and giving elderly relatives a telephone call. These actions are all bedded in our school values and are helping the children to know the importance of kindness, generosity, and grace.
Here are some of their lovely comments and wonderful acts of kindness:
Barney – I have been giving a smile to everyone I see
Kwesi – I have put a positive note into somebody’s book
Esme – I helped my mum with the dishwasher at home
Seraphina – I tidied my bedroom and made my bed
Oliver – I complimented someone
Leyla – I let somebody in front of me in the line
Phoenix – I helped my brother to do his prep
Martha – I have been making sure I say thank you to my friends, teachers and house parents
Isla – I baked a treat for my friend
Wilf – Myself and some other children in my class made some thank you cards
Let’s keep the kindness going!
