Boarders Set Sail Around The Coast Of Lyme Regis
The boarders set sail on the exotic waters of Lyme Regis this weekend with pirate flags hoisted high!
Today was not a day for the discovery of golden treasures and plundering raids however, (unless it was one of mischievous seagull looking for a tasty Hazlegrove packed lunch sandwich to scavenge on the beach!) but a day of mighty mackerel fishing. Skippers, Harry and Bob, took the children out into the bay in their ribs to drop the lines. Some boats were luckier than others with their catch, but all had good fun – the Senior boys were particularly fascinated watching the gruesome gutting process! Meanwhile, a giant fort was constructed down near the water on the beach, many mermaid tails created, several children were buried, a plethora of ever deepening holes were dug, plenty of balls games were played and general relaxing was had by all.
The weather held all day. Back at school, the children settled down to letter writing before sharing a thought-provoking chapel led by Mr Froggatt. A scrumptious roast dinner finished the day off the day marvellously, before the children headed off into the boarding houses to wind down for the evening.
