Frisbee Golf, Total Wipeout and Hazlegrove Olympics Keep Our Boarders Busy
The weekend was off to a fantastic start on Sunday morning with the normal all singing all dancing cooked breakfast.
Once the children had finished their food the seniors spent some time writing home to their loved ones, while the Juniors prepared for their day out on a frisbee golf course.
Throughout the morning the seniors took part in a mini Hazlegrove Olympics. There were four teams, the children decided on their team names and created a ‘war cry’ to use to support their team during competition. The competition included basketball shooting, a potato and spoon race, hula hooping, a sack race, rebound catching, throwing a ring over a pole and the highly competitive Tug of War. Points were awarded for each challenge and with all the scores very close near the end the team ‘Amazon Prime’ were the eventual winners. Great fun was had by all and all the children competed with enthusiasm and with such positive spirit. Meanwhile, the juniors were enjoying their day out at a frisbee golf course where they enjoyed playing in the lovely weather.
After a wonderful roast pork lunch, the afternoon was spent on the inflatable ‘Total Wipeout’ activity. The children had to jump over and duck under moving beams while trying to stay on their platforms. Meanwhile, there was an inflatable assault course, which was attempted at great speed and with great agility. Weaving through batons, crawling through hoops, and sprinting up the inflatable hill with a slide to finish. We definitely have some future ‘Total Wipeout’ stars in the making here at Hazlegrove.
During the afternoon, everyone had some time to relax on the front field, either playing in the cricket nets, kicking a ball around or just spending some time with friends. After an afternoon snack all returned to their boarding houses to watch a film to have some much-needed time to relax after another action-packed weekend at Hazlegrove.
