The Boarders Enjoy a Weekend of Archery, Cooking and Bike Rides
The day started with a fabulous full English breakfast which really set the tone for what was to be a lovely day.
A moment of prayer and reflection was to follow in an informative chapel service led by Mr Jenkins on preconceived judgements that we all make and that we should get to know what a person is really like before judging them. After chapel there was a lovely moment to write home to loved ones to tell them all about the week.
Luckily for us all, the English weather was playing ball today and the outdoor activities were in full flight up until lunch. Mr Birch put on a show for the next generation of Robin Hoods with his archery session where, many emoji balloons were popped. Mr Jenkins had many children riding for miles around the school site in a scavenger hunt. There were two teams racing against the clock to find all the items on Mr Jenkins list. Miss Rudd had those wanting to show off their creative talents in the Art department. There was some R and R for those that needed it with therapy face masks and pampering. Some could be found in the deep dark woods enjoying a campfire with a pre-lunch snack of crispy marshmallows.
After a wonderful roast chicken for lunch followed by an energy boosting piece of millionaires’ shortbread, there was a period of quiet, sitting in the sun reading books.
Then it was turn for the afternoon activities. Mr Jenkins was in control of Nerf wars in the sports hall, with many different styles of games including ‘capture the flag’ and ‘commander’. Miss Rudd supported the next generation of bakers with Hazlegroves very own ‘Great British Bake Off’ with pizza style cookies on the menu. They looked amazing and fun was had by all. For the more active a swim was provided where children used up their last bits of energy.
The day was finished with some popcorn and a movie for both Juniors and Seniors to provide some much-needed down time.
Another fun filled day at Hazlegrove.
