Year 5 Pupil Donates Pocket Money To Worthy Cause
Year 5 pupil Charlotte W has donated £100 of her own pocket money to a Ugandan community.
A family friend of Charlotte's has been sponsoring a girl named Liberty from Uganda for some time and recently Charlotte became interested and wanted to help. Charlotte saved £100 of her own pocket money which she decided to split between the local community and Liberty herself.
Alex Njawukana, head teacher of the local secondary school says "the pandemic has been a very difficult time for us. The teachers and security guards have not been paid at all and so many children are dependent on them for their well-being - educationally, physically and spiritually/emotionally."
£80 will buy maize, rice, beans, flour, soap and other sundries so that Alex and his staff can continue to teach and keep the children safe. £20 has gone to Liberty and her grandmother directly.
We are so proud of Charlotte for her undeniable selflessness and kindness. So many will benefit from Charlotte's donation.
