A Busy Weekend for our Year 8 Virtual Everest Climbers
It has been a busy weekend of climbing for our Year 8 explorers taking part in the Virtual Climb of Everest.
Here is our weekend round-up:
On Friday evening, Imogen H was relaxing at Namche after her day's tally...
Here is Jasper G dining at Namche at the end of Day One...
Ben L pushed on through the 970 metres he had to climb on Day Two to get to Dingboche...
Peanut and Mrs Mahony enjoyed a well-earned rest after 388 flights of stairs on the way to Dingboche on Day Two. Especially after meeting a Yak!
Imogen W, Jimmy L and Jack L finally reached Base Camp, it was getting colder and they were exhausted – time for a well-earned rest! Their whole village is cheering them on and following them and they have just been asked to divert tomorrow morning to pick up another donation. As most of the villagers are self-isolating, they are really keen to follow progress and get involved! £75 raised so far from the trio...
Imogen C reached Namche at the end of Day One (in Florida...)
Hester C met some surprising wildlife before settling down in Dingboche for the night...
Ben L’s Day Three. He is now at Everest Base Camp...
Will W recreated appropriate weather conditions approaching Base Camp!
Peanut got to Base Camp first! Where's Mrs Mahony?
Hester made it to Base Camp...
Miss Rudd has been hiking up and down the stairs in Fitzjames...
A huge well done to all of the Year 8 pupils for their efforts over the weekend. Follow @HZG_Adventures for more updates as they start to approach the peak this week. If you would like to donate, please visit our Virgin Money Giving page.
