Sporting Success over the Christmas Break

For many of us, the Christmas holidays were a time for rest and relaxation. But for a selection of our keen pupils, it was a prime opportunity to train, play and compete in a number of different sports. 

Congratulations to Mary S, Grace L and Alfie L who competed for Hazlegrove at the Moreton Equestrian Centre. Our Hazlegrove team finished 2nd with Mary finishing 4th and Grace 6th individually

Also well done to Clemmie M who finished 6th individually last Sunday in the school Eventers Challenge at King Sedgemoor Equestrian Centre.

Congratulations to William T who has qualified for the Pony Club Winter National Triathlon Finals that take place at Stoke Mandeville in March – shooting, swimming and running.

On Sunday several Hazlegrove athletes competed for Somerset and Dorset in the South West Inter Counties Cross Country Championships. A huge congratulations to Arthur F who finished 3rd in a very competitive U11 boys’ race.

We were delighted to hear over the Christmas holidays that Hazlegrove has 15 children (both boys and girls) that have been selected for the Somerset Cricket Pathway Programme and 3 who have gained selection for the Somerset Winter Age Group Squads – congratulations. They have all started their training sessions and we look forward to hearing all about them.

Over the Christmas holidays our Somerset Hockey players have been busy – both training and playing in tournaments. Congratulations to our Year 8’s - 4 boys and 2 girls, who were selected to represent the county.
