Our Spring Concerts were a truly wonderful example of the musical talent at Hazlegrove
Our Spring Concerts this year were a truly wonderful example of the breadth and depth of music making here at Hazlegrove. There were twenty four groups performing on Thursday and Friday nights with two hundred children performing overall.
Featuring young musicians from Years 3 to 8 and our nine Music Scholars in Year 8 leading the way by setting a good example. The range of music from swing jazz improvisations to Haydn string quartets, African spirituals to Clean Bandit, Holst Marches to West End Musicals were all absolutely outstanding. The quality of performances, professionalism, technical proficiency and attention to detail was particularly impressive for children aged seven to thirteen.
We are fortunate enough to have a fantastic team of music teachers who not only play professionally themselves but most importantly inspire our pupils having formed strong relationships through music making. What was particularly enriching for us, the audience, was watching our young performers working together as part of a team under the leadership of their music teachers producing exciting, well polished and mature performances. I felt honoured to be in the company of so much musical talent at our Spring Concerts and congratulate all the children and their music teachers for their hard work.
Well done everyone!
