Year 4 have been creating fabulous 3D model villages
As part of their Geography curriculum, Mrs Sharp set criteria for Year 4 to make a 3D village. The children had to include A and B roads, a river, a pub, a school, a church, a post office and a village shop. They then had to make the village using paper and card. Once that was done, they were asked to make a bird’s eye view map using the style and symbols from an Ordnance Survey map.
Year 4 created some really wonderful places to live, and Douglas W was awarded a prize in Assembly for making the best 3D village. His village was called Woodsville and had a population of about 60 people. There were 20 children that went to the local village school and Douglas said it was the kind of village he would like to live in. He enjoyed the project and it took him a long time to make his 3D village and OS map.
