Carols with the Orchestra
Carols with the Orchestra is a lovely way to start the last week of term in the run up to the carol service at Wells Cathedral. There was a record turnout for this popular event supporting the 60 or so in the orchestra and plenty of opportunity to get voices into practise before taking on the challenges of filling the cathedral with sound on Thursday!
Many traditional carols were sung including Good King Wenceslas where the men and the ladies take turn in singing, Jingle Bell Bosanova -a jazz arrangement accompanied by the wind band - and Silent Night accompanied by the ekulele group - all great fun!
The evening was rounded off in the traditional way with a glass of mulled wine (for the adults) and mince pies.
