Year 3 trip to Corfe Castle
Year 3 enjoyed a very exciting day at Corfe castle. After a very wet start they arrived to a dry day full of interesting facts about medieval times.
The Year 3s were given a tour by a National Trust guide who shared her wealth of knowledge with us all.
Here are some comments from the children...
‘’I really enjoyed the keep and learning how old the castle was. The toilets were shared by all the royal household.’’- Bertie C
Delilah learnt that "when the soldiers dug under the keep it weakened the structure and made it easy to collapse."
‘’The murder holes were used for dropping hot ash, human waste and body parts down onto enemies which scared them away. It also spread disease.’’ Ben K-S and Issy M
‘’I liked hearing about Lady Mary Banks during the Civil war.’’ Clemmie M
‘’I loved all the passageways that led up to the keep.’’ Douglas W
