Year 5 RE trip to Yeovil churches
Year 5 went to two churches in Yeovil. The first one we visited was the Baptist Church of Yeovil and the other church was St John the Baptist Church of England.
The churches looked extremely different. The first church was really modern and it had a room for children to play in. It had an extremely high-tech electric drum kit which was very cool and also it was really white inside compared to St. John's, because St John's was made out of stone and it was six hundred years old compared to the Baptist Church which is fairly new. The difference between the Baptist Church and St John's was at the baptist church you choose to get baptised and they have a small pool where they dip you completely under the water and it means you are now following Jesus. Whereas at St John's you get baptised when your born to welcome you into the church family.

The Year 5 trip was really fun. In St John’s church the man asked to count as many crosses as we could and I counted 841 crosses. I really enjoyed it and thought it was fun. At the churches we had to take pictures and we took loads. We learned a lot about the differences and similarities between these two different types of Christian churches.
