An action-packed day for Year 7 at Lulworth Cove
On Friday 8 June, Year 7 headed off to Lulworth Cove for an action packed day of geography fieldwork.
We set off from cloudy Somerset expecting overcast skies all day but experienced wall-to-wall sunshine; Dorset was clearly the place to be! Mrs Cobb helped everyone appreciate how the spectacular coastal features were formed and everyone gathered a wealth of data to help answer our enquiry question: 'is excessive tourist activity damaging the landscape around Lulworth and Durdle Door?'
The children had designed their own questionnaires beforehand and excelled themselves in asking members of a public in a polite, engaging and cheerful manner. Time was even found to enjoy an ice cream before we rushed back to Hazlegrove and some pupils headed straight off to London for the National IAPS Swimming Finals!
Never a dull moment!
Mr Farquhar.
