On Thursday last week, Years 5, 6, 7 & 8 watched a French play called Shipwrecked en France.

The play was performed by two actors by the production called Onatti; one French actress and one English actor.  The French actress spoke slowly and clearly and they had included lots of repetition to make sure everybody could follow the story which went as follows:

Tyler didn't realise the coastal tide would push his little blow-up dingy that far, he is just a 13 year old English school boy on holiday in France and now he is so far away from his hotel and he knows his parents are going to be so worried and angry!

There's only one thing he can do - walk, all the way back along the coast, dragging his dingy.  Tyler's long walk along the beach turns into a mini adventure. He encounters many native French people along the way, including a little French girl who insists on accompanying him nearly all the way!

Two things are certain; Tyler is going to know a lot more French by the time he gets back, and his mum is going to be so angry!

The children had a great time and enjoyed watching and participating in the play: they all thought it was very funny. They were very pleased because they understood most of what the actors were saying. It was great fun!
