Year 4 enjoy their 'Camp Out' in the school grounds
This term, Year 4 had not one but two camp outs on consecutive Fridays with the year splitting into two groups for this much anticipated event. We all held our breath for the first one as the weather had been extremely changeable, but, in true Hazlegrove style, we braved the elements and set up our tents. The children were not defeated by misty rain and wind, but enjoyed the whole experience and showed real spirit!
Last Friday was much calmer weather-wise so it was up to Mr Birch to liven it all up by telling the children two (very funny) ghost stories! A glowing fire and cups of hot chocolate provided the perfect setting for these.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Birch who gave up two of his Friday nights to support our campout as well as doing the lion’s share of the organisation. A wonderful group of Year 7 and 8s also need huge thanks for helping the children on both evenings to put up their tents - their help was so much appreciated.
