Year 5 are Shipwrecked on a Desert Island
Last week’s Year Five production saw the children ‘Shipwrecked’ on a desert island without their teachers, and having to entertain each other with traditional tales while waiting to be rescued.
The entertainment was kicked off by 5B’s version of the Norse tale about the creation of Thor’s Hammer, involving dwarves, golden wigs and the mischievous Loki. After realising that they had missed a potential rescue ship, the children then settled down to 5H’s rendition of Pandora’s Box, from Ancient Greece, from which they learned about temptation and human nature. After another song, 5R finished off the trio of stories with a rousing Haka in their Maori creation story, before the rescuers arrived amid a barrage of chocolate jokes and Baywatch music!
The children have thoroughly enjoyed creating the show and performing on stage, with some great singing and dance moves thrown in for good measure. They have worked extremely hard together and can be enormously proud of their creation.
