The Year 4 camp outs were a great success

The Year 4 camp outs were a great success.

We don’t need to mention the rain that started as soon as we started putting up the tents, or the puddles inside Mrs Sharp‘s tent – in fact, the children hardly seemed to notice and instead had a wonderful evening.

Helped by several Year 8s, the tents were put up very quickly and we then started cooking, the highlight of which was definitely stuffing bananas with marshmallows and chocolate chips and cooking them on Mr Morrison’s expertly laid campfire. After songs and stories, teeth were cleaned and the children snuggled down in their tents and settled very quickly.

Sunshine woke us (not too early) and, leaving our tents to dry in the sun, we all enjoyed a hearty breakfast.
