Year 6 Science afternoon at King's Bruton
Year 6 had a fabulous afternoon at King's School Bruton, being inspired to become our next generation of Scientists, Medics and Engineers.
In the Physics department, the teams of Year 6 pupils created some outstanding structures built from paper, straw and sellotape , some reaching over 2m and still withstanding the earthquake test. The pupils courage was tested in the Biology labs as they were encouraged to explore their senses, including plunging their hands into boxes full of unknown items and smelling things that were not all sweet. Finally in Chemistry, what can be more fan than making your own sherbert, apart perhaps from making some slime!
It was lovely to see several old Hazlegrovians clearly thriving. We are indebted to the staff and the 6th formers who gave up their time to lay on such a great afternoon - thank you King’s Bruton!
