Year 6 Design Impact Buggies for Eggs in DT
In DT Year 6 have been designing and making an impact buggy.
The children worked in teams and had a costing list and a budget of 100 DT dollars. They had to design and make an impact buggy that would protect an egg down the ramp of doom. Marks were awarded for appearance and use of materials as well as for the drops that their egg survived, as we increase the gradient by 10 degrees each time – all the way up to a vertical drop!
This is always a fantastic project that sees the children developing real resourcefulness and creative use of materials. It utilises their Maths and Science, allowing for the practical application of academic subjects in a fun and exciting way.
