Author Christopher Lloyd brings history to life

The fabulous author and historian Christopher Lloyd brought history to life in a set of animated talks to the children.

Best known for his ‘What on Earth’ series of books, Christopher took the children on a combined musical, historical, scientific and geographic tour de force of over 13.8 billion years’ worth of humankinds development through the ages. While the Middle School focused on technological and scientific changes, the Lower School and Year 7s focused on British history.

Using his amazing technicolour coat of many pockets and a giant edition of his highly acclaimed What on Earth? wallbook as a backdrop, his talk focused on 10 of the most significant moments that have shaped British and world history. There were great opportunities for interactivity and all children impressed with their superb answers to questions. Throughout the children were encouraged to consider how we can ‘zoom out’ and make connections between different subjects.

The talks left the children enriched, enlightened and entertained!
