The Bryanston SATIPS Orchestral Day was a big highlight for the Year 5 and 6 musicians.
We arrived at Bryanston and were separated into groups according to the instruments that we played. In those groups we learnt three different pieces, two that we had already seen and one that was completely new to us.The conductors of each of the groups were very helpful and passionate about teaching us the music. We spent about two and a half hours rehearsing our pieces in our groups. We were given short breaks in between where we enjoyed juice and biscuits that Bryanston kindly provided for us.
After all of our hard work, we all came together in the auditorium to rehearse the music as one big orchestra. At first it was difficult putting all the different parts together but after a few rehearsals we felt ready and excited to perform for an audience.
We found it very inspiring, a great experience and feel that we will work harder in our music lessons now in order to become better musicians!
