A day of stunning colour and vibrance as we celebrated the European Day of Languages
It was a day of stunning colour and vibrance at Hazlegrove as we celebrated the European Day of Languages...
On Tuesday, we belatedly celebrated the European Day of Languages - the actual day having coincided with the Year 7 trip to the River Dart. Most of the children enjoyed dressing up to represent a European country and there was a great deal of creativity.
Throughout the day, the children had to follow clues to find teachers who had volunteered to represent a country with an object or a charade. At lunch time, we enjoyed a fabulous Spanish lunch with delicious prawns and calamari.
Staff throughout the Prep School wholeheartedly embraced the spirit of the day and integrated a European theme into their lessons. From la Petanque (a French game similar to bowling) on the gravel in front of School House in PE to locational knowledge of European countries in Geography and from a French theme with bridges in DT to learning about habitats around Europe in Science, the children enjoyed a busy and cultural day.
It was a perfect way to start off the week.
