Year 7 enjoyed a Geography trip to Lulworth and Durdle Door
Is too much tourist activity affecting the area around Lulworth and Durdle Door in a negative way? Is it being managed well?
On Friday 30 June, Year 7 headed off to find out! We collected a wealth of data to give us plenty to comment on in our Common Entrance write up, which contributes 20% to the overall mark in geography.
Landscape evaluations and other surveys were conducted at a range of sites to determine whether facilities have been developed sensitively or not. In addition, pupils designed their own surveys beforehand and spent much of the day asking visitors what they thought and recording the results. The weather was beautiful, thankfully, and the spectacular coastal landforms were enjoyed by all, as we learnt what erosional processes caused them to form.
Time was even found to enjoy an ice cream before we rushed back home!
A brilliant day.
