Year 3 visit cheese producers, Wyke Farm

The Year 3 children were very fortunate to spend the morning at Wyke Farm on Thursday.

We learnt how the farm is 100% Green and sustainable. We were so impressed by the Anaerobic Digester (AD) plant which used natural waste from the farm and breadcrumbs from a local bakery to help generate power. Solar panels were used on the roofs and even the cars were powered by electricity!

We enjoyed hearing the story of Grandma Ivy and looked at how the cheese is made using her own secret recipe. We were delighted to taste the delicious cheese and design our own cow head band!
