Year 6 have been 'Revolting Children' for Miss Hughes' Production This Year!
Year 6 may have been a ‘little bit naughty’ during their phenomenal rendition of the stage adaptation of Roald Dahl’s ‘Matilda’, but their performance was nothing short of astounding!
It has been an absolute pleasure watching the Year 6 cast this year. We are immensely proud of all the hard work and dedication they put into this year’s production. Energy and enthusiasm have been in abundance from day one to production night, and the entire Hazlegrove community has thoroughly enjoyed being immersed in singing, dancing and acting in boarding houses, the playground and in classrooms.
‘Matilda’ truly is a gem. The enchanting storyline, joyfully anarchic songs and infectious humour have been an absolute delight to rehearse and perform for the pupils. The music created by Tim Minchin for a West End production is challenging, but our Year 6 children have stepped up in fantastic spirits. Their tenacity and dedication have proved to us all what a professional and ‘splendiferous’ group of young performers they are.
With huge thanks to our supporting staff who managed to bring Matilda’s story to life on the stage and assist the Year 6 cast to put on a magnificent show.
Thank you all for everything you have done. As Matilda said, “never do anything by halves if you want to get away with it. Be outrageous”.
Bravo Year 6!
