Pupils were delighted to meet author Lauren St John
Year 5 and 6 were thrilled to welcome One Dollar Horse author, Lauren St John to Hazlegrove.
Lauren told them all about her childhood in Zimbabwe. She has worked with the Born Free Foundation saving, rehabilitating and releasing animals back into their natural habitats. Her compassion for looking after animals and wildlife came across as strong and true, and she had some amazing stories to tell. It was a very interesting session.
Later Year 7 had writing workshops with Lauren. After some advice on how to tell a good story, the children read their opening paragraphs out and Lauren was pleased with the results.
It was a super day and many children were absolutely delighted to meet the author of some of their favourite books.
Thank you Lauren for taking the time to come to Hazlegrove and for providing inspiration for our pupils.
