Sports Roundup
It has been a busy couple of weeks on the sporting front.
The Year 7s thoroughly enjoyed their week away at the River Dart; such a wonderful trip and one that creates memories that will last a lifetime. Not only do the children step outside of their personal comfort zones but also learn and develop their life skills such as teamwork, leadership, compassion, resilience and so much more.
Both the rugby and hockey have been in full swing and we are delighted that the recent rain has helped to soften the pitches. We have really enjoyed helping the Lower School experience match days for the first time and are constantly reminded about the delight the children get from representing their school.
The Under 11 girls finished as runners up of the plate competition at the IAPS Regional Finals last week and we look forward to further tournaments as the term progresses.
Next week it is the turn of the U10 boys; they will play in the King's Bruton Tournament next Wednesday.
Our school riders have had their first outing of the term and returned home from the local NSEA show jumping competition at Leweston School, laden with rosettes and medals.
In the first Biathlons of the term, we were thrilled with the efforts of the Hazlegrove pupils, with many of them gaining team and individual medals.
There are so many sporting opportunities at Hazlegrove and we would encourage everyone to have a go and to make the most of the different experiences. We look forward to welcoming Year 5 back from Naturesbase and a busy sporty week as we run up to half term.
