Year 3 pupils had a super first practical DT lesson

Year 3 are working on a perpetual calendar project in DT and yesterday, they carried out their first practical lesson in the workshop.

They used the marking and measuring tools accurately and safely, and for many of them this was their first time using a saw to cut wood. They all worked superbly and were super safe and mature little makers. 

They impressed me with their maths ability, working out where to mark the wood based on division and multiplication of measurements. 

A fantastic first practical lesson that was so much fun and impressive productivity.
