Lower School delight audiences with Hansel and Gretel
We were delighted to welcome so many to our performances of ‘Hansel and Gretel’, a play based on the traditional fairy tale, performed by the Lower School last week. The audience were treated to a wonderful production: the children all delivered their lines so clearly and confidently, their dance moves were meticulously choreographed so that over 80 children moved as one – and the songs will buzz around our heads for a very long time to come!
Once again, what really shone through was the children’s enjoyment of the production. Year 4 had clearly taken much trouble to learn their lines over the Christmas holidays. They were an absolute pleasure to work with during the regular break and lunchtime rehearsals, unwavering in their support and encouragement of each other. As the chorus, Year 3 were delightful as they joined in confidently with the songs and actions throughout the performances.
As in previous years, the production was a real lesson in teamwork for us all and it was exciting to see it all come together in such a special way. A huge thank you to all involved - especially to the many busy academic staff who gave up their time to support us.
