A sports roundup at Exeat...

Hockey
Wow! What a busy start to the hockey term for the girls. Here at Hazlegrove we have hosted five different age group tournaments and have enjoyed welcoming a number of local schools to take part. A special mention must go to our U13c team who won their respective tournament.

Rugby
It has been a slightly different start to the rugby term this year – with our pitches being too hard to play proper home fixtures on. However, with other schools having a combination of more grass cover and softer pitches the boys have enjoyed some great rugby training games against Sherborne, Taunton School and Sandroyd.

Our U11 boys all went to the Queens Festival; this was a lovely way to start the rugby term and one U10 team went to the Port Regis Festival and won all of their matches; a team to watch this term!  We are hoping that after the exeat things will return to normal.

Swimming
A great start to the year for the Year 6, 7 and 8 swimming team win a good victory over Sherborne Prep.

Squash
The boys in Year 7 and 8 have enjoyed some good matches against Sandroyd; playing some super squash. The sport of squash is really alive at Hazlegrove with the courts being well used at break and lunchtimes.

Riding
Good luck to the 11 Hazlegrove riders who are competing for the school this weekend at the Leweston NSEA Inter Schools Show Jumping event. Some of them for the first time.
Please do contact Mrs Cobb if you have access to your own pony and would like to join the school riding team (events start from around 40cm upwards).

Golf
Congratulations to Joseph P who represented Hazlegrove during the summer holidays in the prestigious Stowe Putter event. He achieved a very commendable result.

Football
Arthur N had a busy summer playing for the England International ISFA team - well done indeed and we look forward to keeping up with his future progress.

Biathle/Triathle
I
t was a fabulous experience in Weiden, Germany for the five athletes who competed in the European Championships; Carina H, Josh C, Zinzan S, Arthur F and Skye F. Hazlegrove children helped the Great Britain team to secure a number of gold medals.

Laser Run
We wish Rafferty S good luck for this coming weekend in Dublin when he competes for Great Britain in the World Laser Run Finals. Also competing there will be three Old Hazlegrovians.
