Great things have been created in DT recently...
There has been lots going on down in the DT Department recently...
Year 3 have made perpetual calendars – reusing adventure playground fencing into something that can be used endlessly. Wooden perpetual calendars allowed children to develop their skills with a range of tools for woodworking as well as introduce them to computer aided manufacturing with the vinyl months being cut out on our vinyl cutter.
Year 4 have made moving vehicles – children worked with a wide range of materials during this project (wood, plastic, manufactured boards, plastic, card and clay) and a number of high-level specialist processes including vacuum forming the 3D body of the car.
Year 7 have been making dark activated timed nightlights – making use of their learning in Science of light dependant resisters to construct their complex circuits. Angus has worked hard to complete this beautiful finished product that a number of staff wanted to purchase!
