Children have been busy in DT making textile bags and frisbees
Textiles is an increasingly important aspect of Design and Technology and children from Year 6 had fun designing and making re-useable bags. They based their designs on animals and learnt about woven and non-woven fabrics. The children also learnt how to thread up and use a sewing machine and when they had finished sewing, some lovely bags were proudly shown off.
Children in Year 5 designed and made their own frisbees using the vacuum former to heat and melt the plastic to create them. They learnt about using vinyl for decoration as they cut out their own decorative stickers. We tested them in the Fitzjames Courtyard to see how well they flew and had great fun!
