Year 7 learn to appreciate Roman architecture in History

In our Year 7 Classical Civilisation class, we have moved onto a new topic this term which will enable us to explore Roman buildings, towns and architecture.

To kick start this topic, the children were tasked to make a Roman style building. Using cardboard, paper and sellotape they made the frontage to a Roman temple. They were asked to focus on the columns, pediment and roof which held the temple together. Paper was used to give both the base and capital on the columns some Roman artistic flair!

Lots was learnt and much fun was had by all, what a super way to start of the terms work.
