Final sports news round-up of term
All the latest sports news at the end of term...
Cricket
It has been a super term of cricket and all of our boys and girls have been enjoying this summer sport. The boarders enjoyed a trip last Sunday to watch the England women in action in the World Cup event at Taunton.
Wimbledon Trip
The eight children that were lucky in the recent ballot enjoyed a fine day at Wimbledon this week. Watching Heather Watson win her game was a real highlight.
Riding
Congratulations to our tetrathletes who all competed so well at the recent Sandroyd event. The Hazlegrove minimus team won their category and all competitors came home laden with rosettes. It has been a very good year for our riders and we look forward to the new academic year. If you are someone who has your own pony and would like to join our school teams please do contact Mrs Cobb.
Athletics
Congratulations to all of our athletes - both the Year 5 and Year 7 teams were victorious at the Kings Bruton Festival and we enjoyed much success at the South West Prep Schools Championships - with sixteen children gained qualification for the National Finals in twenty two events. We have had a superb term and it has been great to see a number of school records being broken from Year 3-8.
Biathle
Hazlegrove children performed brilliantly at the recent National Schools Finals that took place at Leweston School. As well as a whole host of individual medals we were delighted that three of our school teams were victorious - Year 5 girls, Year 7 boys and Year 8 girls.
Shooting
Congratulations to the Hazlegrove children who competed in the recent Bath Laser Run event. We were thrilled to hear that Oliver L finished 2nd and Angus E finished 3rd in the Under 13 category.
