Hockey
Congratulation to the boys 1st VII who won their IAPS Regional Tournament this Wednesday at Bryanston. During the day they beat The Downs, Perrott Hill, Twyford and Dumpton in their pool matches to finish top of their group, they won the semi-final against Cranleigh 4-2 and then beat Clifton 1-0 in the final to be crowned IAPS West Champions for 2017. We wish them luck as they prepare and look forward to the National Finals that take place on Monday 20th March.
Netball
Congratulations to the girls who have been busy taken part in local tournaments. Well done to both the U12a and U12b teams who both finished 3rd in their Millfield Tournaments and the U13a team that played so well at both the Bryanston and Millfield tournaments. A special congratulations to the U11b team that finished in second place - finishing equal on points with the winners who had a better goal difference.
Cross Country
We delighted to hear that six Hazlegrove children had been selected to represent Somerset at the recent South West Cross Country Finals in Truro. This was after some superb performances at the Somerset County Championships.
Last Saturday we travelled to Truro and in what can only be described as ‘extremely testing’ conditions - wind, driving rain, freezing conditions all added to the mud to make it a very memorable day. The highlight of the day was Jake’s incredible run to finish in 3rd place in the Minor Boys category.
Girl’s cricket
The Lady Taverners event for 2017 has started well for the Hazlegrove team. We enjoyed hosting local schools - Swanmead, Holyrood and Stanchester in the first round of this competition. Hazlegrove won their matches and now move forward to round 2. Good luck.
IAPS Judo - Just for Girls
For the first time we had three girls competing in the ‘Judo Just For Girls’ event in High Wycombe. Florence, Skye and Issy all performed brilliantly against some tough opposition. They all enjoyed the day and we were thrilled that Issy finished 3rd in her category.
Riding
Hazlegrove were well represented at the recent schools eventers' competition - a competition where half the course is show jump and the other half cross country fences. We picked up a number of both team and individual rosettes and a special congratulation should go to Lily who won the biggest class of the day riding her pony Lexi.
