Sports news round-up at at half term
A round up of the latest sports news...
Swimming
Congratulations to Daisy Davies and Harriet Tuson for their performances at the IAPS National Finals at the K2 centre in Crawley.
Athletics
We have enjoyed much success this term. Our Year 4,5,6 athletes were victorious at the eight school Monkton Festival and we returned home from the Kings College Festival with a total of 22 medals, with 15 of them being gold. It was great to see our Year 8 boys winning the final event of the afternoon the 4 x 100m relay. We look forward to Sports Day and watching what we know will be a competitive morning of sport for all.
Cricket
The boys have all been enjoying some exciting cricket fixtures and we have witnessed many wonderful personal achievements, that will be celebrated in final assembly.
Rounders
This season is flying by and we have certainly seen some stunning matches during the course of the past few weeks. Unfortunately a few fixtures have been casualties of the showery weather but hopefully after half term the sun will be here to stay!
Biathle
Twenty six Hazlegrove children competed in this schools event which had attracted over 200 entrants. Again we returned home laden with medals – 27 in total. With victories in the Year 4 girls and Year 6 boys team event and individual gold medals for Carina H, Kai S and Daisy D.
Tennis
We have really enjoyed the many year group tournament style events that we have hosted this term and it has been super to see all of our Lower School children benefitting from this experience. The school tennis ladders are in full swing and it has been great to see the buzz about this sport this term, with the courts being well used at break times.
