Over 50 Children Compete at the National Schools' Biathle Finals
Last Sunday Hazlegrove took over 50 children to compete in the National Schools Biathle Championships.
There was a huge number of entries (398) and competitors from schools across the South of England were represented. The children all had to all run, transition (take their shoes off quickly and place them in a box) then swim, then transition (put their shoes back on) and then run again – distances depended on the age group.
All of the races were fast and furious and our HZG athletes were superb. Everyone competed with real determination and we were delighted to have 2 individuals and 4 teams crowned National Champions with many other podium places being achieved. A total of 27 team medals were won and 8 top six individual places were achieved. A great day of competing in this exciting sport.
