Cross Country

19 Hazlegrove runners have qualified for the Somerset County Championships following a very successful chilly afternoon at the Yeovil Area Cross Country Trials. 

Highlights included:

4 of the top 5 Year 7 boys being Hazlegrove athletes with Josh C winning the Year 7 race
3rd place for Lara R in the Year 7 Girls race
4 Year 8 boys in the top 10 in the Junior Boys category with Jake F finishing 2nd
2nd place for Alice de P in the Junior Girls race

Hockey 

The term finished off in style with Hazlegrove hosting a super U9a and U9b Tournament. Our Hazlegrove team finished in 3rd place in the Indoor Tournament. 

The Year 3 girls all enjoyed a fast and furious morning crammed with indoor hockey last Saturday. Taunton School and Hazlegrove enjoyed some exciting hockey and it was a splendid way to end the term.

The Under 12 team enjoyed a great day of hockey at Ipswich School playing at their IAPS National Finals.

A special mention must go to our U13a team and our U11a team who both finish the season undefeated in school fixtures - a wonderful testament to their passion and enthusiasm for the game.  

Rugby

The boys have enjoyed a good end to the rugby season - quite wet and muddy at times. Well done to all of the boys from Year 3- 8 who have enjoyed learning more about this fantastic game.

Squash

This term we have enjoyed a number of school fixtures against Chafyn Grove, Sandroyd, Taunton and Port Regis. The squash courts continue to be a busy place during breaks and lunchtimes - it is important that the children must wear protective goggles when they are playing. I expect these will feature on a number of Christmas lists!

Swimming

The pool has been a hive of activity every day this term; it is in use all day every day. We are so pleased that our Nursery children right up to Year 8’s can make use of this wonderful facility. The school squad are currently training hard and have enjoyed close and exciting swimming fixtures against Sherborne, Taunton and Port Regis this term. Next term we look forward to the Regional IAPS Swimming Gala and this year we are travelling to Monkton for this.

Hazlegrove Park Run

Hazlegrove Runners have clocked up an amazing 401 miles of park running this Term.

4 runners have achieved first milestone token of 15 park runs Lucas M, George M, Tom A-H and James B.

Top runners in each Year group include;
