Fantastic success in cross-country, hockey, netball, riding and Judo
A round of of our sports news at the end of a busy term...
Cross Country
It has been a busy few weeks for our runners. We are delighted that the Park Run continues to be very popular and we have a growing number of children from across the school who have gained their ‘15’ and ‘30’ tokens.
Our school teams have been returned with numerous medals and trophies from both local and national competitions and we were thrilled with both Anya E and Kai S who both competed so well for Somerset in Norfolk last weekend. Clayesmore Relays Fastest Lap Awards were made to the Fisher Trio - Fred, Jake and Skye.
At the National Prep Schools Championships at Malvern College we took a full team of U11 and U13 Boys and Girls to this event and they all really enjoyed the occasion and experience. Each race has about 400 runners competing from around 80 prep schools from across the country. We were delighted that our senior girls team finished 3rd overall - a superb achievement.
Hockey
Congratulations to our Year 4 boys who finished as winners and runners up respectively in the recent Under 9 Millfield Tournaments and also to our 1st VII who played well at the National IAPS Finals this week.
Netball
Well done to the U10 girls who were runners up at the King's School Bruton Netball Tournament.
Riding
Well done to the riders who have qualified for the NSEA Eventers' Challenge National Championships that take place at Hickstead at the end of May.
Shooting
The new Laser Shooting club has proved very popular and will continue next term.
Judo
Well done to the three senior boys who took part in the IAPS National Tournament and to Joe C for finishing 3rd in a very competitive class.
