A fabulous new herb garden for the Food Tech Department

Over the holidays a parent very generously made a donation to Hazlegrove for the creation of an herb garden.

The grounds team worked on the project over the summer and have situated several raised beds around the Food Technology building. In Food Tech, the Year 5s were very excited to see the beds planted with a good variety of herbs. Some Apple and thyme muffins have already been made and there are plans for using herbs in their cooking regularly.

‘We have been busy smelling the wonderful variety of herbs in our new herb garden.  The pupils have been considering new flavour combinations in their Food Technology lessons – sweet and savoury!  I am always on the lookout for more herbs so please contact me if you have any donations!’ – Mrs Spilsbury, Head of Food Technology
