To celebrate all the hard work the LSU pupils have put in this term, they had a day of making kites using willow and recycled plastic.
This hands-on, multi-sensory activity also helped the children revise the topic of “shape”. They rehearsed the terms; edges, vertices, the names of shapes as well as looking at the angles and they discussed the waste of single use plastic. The recycled kites will be good for playing with during the summer holidays. The willow sticks were renewable and light. The children enjoyed experimenting with different frames and flew them on the Lower School lawn.
It was a real treat to see them enjoying themselves, following instructions and producing something fun to play with.
