Year 4 Create an Imaginary Landscape
Year 4 have been exploring landscape and studied the lively paintings of David Hockney in their previous lessons.
To build on their understanding of colour and shape, they have been using a whole range of coloured papers to cut or tear and layer up to create an imaginary landscape image. Some pupils were considering perspective and some wanted to focus on reflections or atmospheric lighting such as sunsets. The children have enjoyed discovering new colour combinations and layering effects, and found a certain freedom in not having to draw anything first! I look forward to seeing the finished results which promise to be very bold!
