Year 2 Take Inspiration from Outside

Pre-Prep PrePrep

Year 2 did a weather check this week because we had lots of exciting things to do outside the classroom.

The weatherman nearly got it right and we managed to enjoy our playtimes and our outdoor activities. On Wednesday, we had a lovely walk looking for signs of Autumn in the school grounds. The old man’s beard, sycamore seeds, conkers and lovely autumnal colours did not disappoint us. This walk will be the inspiration for our poetry writing next week!

Our maths work has asked for accuracy and care. We have used a selection of measuring devices. We discovered how using a tape measure helped us to measure round and unusually shaped objects like the classroom globes. We also took our measuring skills out to the playground so we could measure larger objects with metre sticks and trundle wheels.

We are really looking forward to having our Mummies and Daddies join us in school next Monday for our stay-and-learn morning.
