Year 6 Get Speedy in Maths

Year 6 children have explored speed and the different units of measure used to record it.

We decided to compare lots of animals and the fastest humans. Year 6 then wanted to test just how fast they could run. Using a 50m track, we timed each other and calculated our speed in m/s before being challenged to convert this first into kmph and then mph. Well done to Year 6 - not quite as fast as a cheetah but a speedy effort nonetheless!
