Year 3 Visit the Rural Life Museum
This week, Year 3 embarked on an educational journey to the Rural Life Museum in Glastonbury, a trip designed to complement their ongoing topic of Myths and Legends.
The museum, renowned for its rich collection of artefacts, offered our pupils a unique opportunity to delve deeper into the world of myths and legends. They were able to see and touch various artefacts, each with its own story, further enriching their understanding of the topic.
One of the highlights of the visit was the clay mythical creature activity. Year 3 unleashed their creativity and crafted their own interpretations of mythical creatures. This hands-on experience not only allowed them to express their artistic skills but also helped them connect more deeply with the mythical creatures they have been studying.
In addition to the artefacts and activities, Year 3 were treated to stories of local myths and legends. These tales, steeped in history and folklore, captivated the pupils and sparked lively discussions.
The excursion was a resounding success, with all thoroughly enjoying the day. The smiles on their faces and their animated conversations were a testament to their engagement and enthusiasm.
Back in the classroom, the children will continue exploring myths and legends. The visit to the museum has undoubtedly fuelled their interest in the topic, as evidenced by the excellent work they have been producing. We look forward to seeing how this hands-on experience will inspire their future projects.
In conclusion, the trip to the Rural Life Museum was not just an educational excursion but also a day filled with fun, discovery, and creativity. It was a perfect blend of learning and enjoyment, and we are excited about the upcoming adventures in our study of myths and legends.
