Hazlegrove achieved 'Excellent' for our ISI Inspection
It's top marks for Hazlegrove as we start the year with an 'Excellent' ISI report.
The Autumn term has kicked off with a great start for Hazlegrove having achieved the highest possible grade of 'Excellent' for our Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) educational inspection. The inspection came at the end of the Summer term and Mr Benbow and the staff are delighted with the result. The Inspectors took an extremely positive view of the school commenting on how pupils understand and appreciate the importance of taking responsibility for their behaviour and as a result have an excellent moral understanding. The report also detailed how the children have an excellent awareness and appreciation of matters beyond the material and commented on the high levels of self-confidence and resilience that the children demonstrated.
Mr Benbow said, ‘I am delighted that a great number of judgements from the report resonate particularly with the ethos and vision for the school including the excellent progress pupils make and how well they are supported and challenged to achieve their potential'. He also mentioned that the Inspection team had found the behaviour of the children to be excellent along with their relationships with their teachers, describing the pupil's development of knowledge and skills across the curriculum as 'rapid and strong'. The verbal communication skills and language acquisition were described as developing with great rapidity in the nursery and children across the board relish the opportunities available at the school to challenge themselves beyond the classroom.
Mr Benbow added, 'The result is testament to the outstanding quality of staff and children at Hazlegrove. As a community, we feel extremely proud of this report and equally excited about the future, as we look to build on these foundations.'
