Year 1 have been investigating buying and growing their very own beans.

This week we have turned our focus in maths to money.

Grounding our knowledge when adding amounts, finding change, and making purchases at the Year 1 in-class Garden Centre. This links us nicely to our new science topic where we have been learning about plants. Already we have kicked off the half term by planting our own beans (all children whispered kind words to their bean before planting to encourage a happy germination!)  which we have enjoyed learning how to water and take care of as well as identifying and investigating different types of fruits and vegetables. A perfect first week back for our green fingered Year 1’s and has definitely started some food for thought about what’s to come!
