The Music Department is all over Mental Health Week, but not just this week, every week!
The Music Department is all over Mental Health Week – but not just this week – every week! Did you know that…
- A ‘Piece of the Week’ is played at the start of every lesson from Year 3 to Year 8 to help the children to focus their minds at the start of the lesson
- Singing is available for everyone all the time! Timetabled and extra-curricular choirs, including for staff, we are continuing to reintroduce pupils and staff to singing in the wake of the pandemic, improving mental well-being and a sense of community through singing together.
- Our new school song, “Climb Higher”, is amazing and has been chosen to instil a sense of self-worth, collaboration, and well-being.
- During the exam time our hard-working Year 8s are encouraged to use GarageBand to be focused and creative
- We play music together in ensembles all the time as a community, supporting younger/less advanced musicians and enjoying the positive and meaningful impact of performing together.
Music is there for everyone and it holds a very special place in the heart of the Hazlegrove community.
