This Week in Pre-Prep Forest School!
It's been quite a mix of weather this week. So, some of our Forest School sessions have been inside and some outside.
The Nursery couldn't beat the weather, so we decided to join it! Ducks at the ready, we found plenty of puddles to let them swim and we even had time for a spot of fishing. No such thing as bad weather!
Reception discovered what we might find under our feet. Lots of digging and carefully looking through the mud to reveal a whole host of treasures, tiny snail shells, half-nibbled hazelnut shoots from a sycamore seed and two different types of worms!
Year 1 avoided the wind and worked together creating their ‘peaceful planets’ drawings. We chatted about nature, people and the animals that make up our planet. Unfortunately, our planets didn't stay this way! The groups moved tables and drew...trees that had been cut and rubbish that had been dropped. We had to solve these problems by working to clean the rivers, plant trees and recycle! It was noted that by working as a team, problems can be fixed.
In preparation for next week's lesson (weather dependent), Year 2 built our Tudor houses and Pudding Lane was created and discussed the materials used during the Year 1666.
